      The M.R. Desouza Scholarship (Value Rs.284/- per annum for one year) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the grand total, on condition that he continues his studies for the M.Com. degree examination.

      The Lotus Foundation Scholarship (Value Rs.1,800/- per annum for two years) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate, on condition that he continues he continues for the M.Com. degree examination full course of Management Studies.

      The Syndicate Bank Golden Jubilee Scholarship (Value Rs.900/- per annum for two years) Awarded every alternate year (even year) to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination, on condition that he prosecute his studies for the M.Com. degree examination, provided he is not the recipient of any other Scholarship. Failing such a candidate, to the next in rank.

       The Late Shri Mohan Lal Tanna Foreign Scholarship (Value Rs.5,000/- per annum for Two Years) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest but not less than 55% of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. Degree examination. Scholar must prosecute his studies abroad for the M.Com. or M.B.A or C.A. examination at any of the standard Universities or Institutions or repute with the standing of a University in any foreign country.

     The Late Shri Mohan Lal Tannan Scholarship (Value Rs.1200/- per annum for Two years) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest but not less than 55% of marks on he aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination. Scholar must prosecute his studies for the M.Com. degree examination of this University.

      The Principal K.M. Kundanani Scholarship (Value Rs.1,170/- per annum for one year) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate among the successful candidate at the Final examination for the degree of B.Sc., B.Com. and B.A. by rotation each year in the order or rotation in which the examinations are mentioned below:-

       B.Sc. ? 2001 B.Com. ? 2002 B.A. - 2000 The Late Shri Mohan Lal Tannan Scholarship (Value Rs.1,000/- each for two years) Awarded annually to the two candidates who pass the B.Com. degree examination at the first attempt and secures the highest and the second highest number of marks respectively, but not less than 55% of marks on the aggregate among the candidates. Scholars must prosecute a full time course of study for the M.M.S. or M.B.A. degree examination at any of the following Institutions :-      The Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies University of Mumbai, Or Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta or Ahmedabad, Or any other similar Institutions anywhere in India recognized by the Executive Council of this University. The Sharmrao Vithal Co-op. Bank Platinum Jubilee Prize (Value Rs.900/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the grand total at the B.Com. degree examination. The Bai Shirinbai Endowment Prize (Value Rs.425/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the grand total at the B.Com. degree examination.

      The Shri Vithal Nilkanth Wagel Scholarship (Value Rs.450/- per annum for Two years) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination, on condition that he continues his studies for the M.Com. degree examination or any other course of two years duration in Management Studies. The Sir James Begbie Scholarship (Value Rs.350/- per annum for Two years) Awarded every even year to the candidate who passes the B.Com. degree examination with the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the examination, on condition that he prosecutes his studies for the M.Com. degree examination or any other course in Management Studies. If such a student is recipient of any other University Scholarship, the Scholarship be awarded to the next in rank on the same condition. The Mangaldas Harivallabhdas Commerce Prize (Value Rs.362/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate Hindu candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination. The Sir James Begbi Scholrship (Value Rs.350/- per annum for two year) Awarded every odd year to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination, on condition that he prosecutes his studies for the M.Com. degree examination or any other course in Management Studies. If such a student is recipient of any other University Scholarship,. The Scholarship be awarded to the next in rank, on the same condition. The Sir Ebraim Rahimtoola Prize in Commerce (Value Rs.60/- in cash) Awarded every year to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination. The Naraindas Khanchand Mirchandani Prize. (Value Rs.360/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate with at least Second Class at the B.Com. degree examination form among the successful candidates belonging to the colleges affiliated to this University situated in official areas, i.e, in Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg Districts of Maharashtra, on condition that he prosecutes his studies further in the University. The Bank of Baroda Shri N.M. Chokshi Memorial Scholarship (Value Rs.710/- per annum for one year) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest number of marks in three papers in ?Banking and Finance? as a special subject, but not less than 45% of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination, on condition that he continues his studies for the M.Com. degree examination with ?Banking & Finance? as one of his subjects. The Late Shri Maholal Sindhoo Prize (Value Rs.565/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks in three papers in ?Banking and Finance? as special subject at the B.Com. degree examination. The Dr. S.K. Muranjan Prize (Value Rs.565/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest number of marks in three papers in ?Banking and Finance? as special at the B.Com. degree examination. The Professor S.V. Ghatalia Gold Medal (Value Rs.900/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes at the first attempt with the highest number of marks in three papers in ?Financial Accounting and Auditing? as special subject at the B.Com. degree examination. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India Prize. (Value Rs.900/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who B.Com. degree examination at the first attempt with the highest but not less than 60% of marks in the main subject of ?Financial Accounting and Auditing? at the examination. The Professor P.C. Hansotia Memorial Endowment Prize. (Value Rs.450/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks in ?Financial Accounting and Auditing at the B.Com. degree examination.   The Jal T. Desai Prize. (Value Rs.900/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks in ?Financial Accounting and Auditing? at the B.Com. degree examination, provided he passes the examination at the first attempt. The Late Shri Haridas N. Ashar Prize.(Value Rs.900/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks in the subject of ?Acturial Science? prescribed for study under the special group among the successful candidates at the B.Com. degree examination under new pattern. The Professor G.S. Diwan Prize. (Value Rs. 100/- in cash or books) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the B.Com. degree examination at the first attempt with the highest number of marks in ?Actuarial Science?. The Professor U.U. Bhat Memorial Prizes (Value Rs. 800/- half in cash and half in books) Awarded to the candidate who passes the B.Com. degree examination at the first attempt and secures the highest number of marks in the subject of ?Computer System? but in no case less than 70% of the total marks obtainable in the subject at the examination.

       The Professor M.V. Chandgadkar Prize (Value Rs. 900/- half in cash & half in books) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the B.Com. degree examination at the first attempt and secures the highest number of marks in the subject of ?Mass Communication? but in no case less than 55% of the total marks obtainable in that subject at the examination.

      The Late Pratapsingh Ranchhoddas Jethabhai Memorial (Commerce) Prize (Value Rs. 280/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secure the highest of marks in ?Business Management? at the B.Com. degree examination. The Professor P.C. Hansotia Memorial Endowment Prize (Value Rs. 450/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secure the highest number of marks in ?Cost Accounting? at the B.Com. degree examination.   The Dr. R.V. Bhagwat Prize. Application required (Value Rs. 630/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination from among the application who are sons/daughters of teacher in degree colleges affiliated to this University provided he passes the examination at the first attempt. The Late Shri T.D. Kansara Memorial Prize. (Value Rs. 1,350/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate passes at the first attempt the B.Com degree examination held in the first half attempt the B.Com. degree examination held in the first half of every year, with the highest number of marks on the aggregate in the three papers on ?Banking and Finance? as a special subject among the successful candidate at the examination.

    The Late Bai Annapurnabai Vishwanath Mandlik Prize Application required (Value Rs.125/- in books) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the B.Com. degree examination from among the applicants whose parents/guardian?s income does not exceed Rs.2,000/- per month, on condition that he prosecutes his studies for the M.Com. degree examination. The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Memorial Cash Prize instituted by the Progressive Welfare Association, Mumbai. (Value Rs. 1000/- each in cash) Three prizes awarded annually at each of the B.A., B.Sc., B.Com. degree examination held in the first half of calendar year, to the candidates who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate from among the successful candidates belonging to backward Classes (i.e. Schedule Castes, Neo-Buddhists, Schedule Tribes, Denotified Tribes and Nomadic Tribes, Denotified Tribes and Nomadic Tribes and Nomadic Tribes) at the respective examination. The Shri Ajay Bhatt S. Vadhyar Prize Application required (Value Rs. 850/- in cash) Awarded annually to a son or daughter of the University non-teaching employee in service or retired who passes the T.Y. B.Com. Examination at the first attempt and secures the highest number of marks in the special subject of ?Financial Accounting & Auditing? (i.e. out of 300 marks) at the examination from among those who apply for the prize. Shrimati Motibai Moraraji prizes (Value of Rs. 2,125/- in cash) Awarded every year to a candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate from among the successful candidate at the B.Com. degree examination. B. LIB. SCIENCE EXAM. The Matushri Saubhagyavati Parvatibai Priolkar Prize (Value : Rs. 280/- in books) Awarded annually to the highest on the aggregate. The Dadabhai Naoroji Memorial Pirze (Value Rs.690/- in cash or books) Awarded annually to the highest on the aggregate. The Smt. Shanta N. Rege Prize (Value : Rs. 2,125/- in cash) Awarded annually to the a candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate from among the successful candidates at the B.Lib. Science degree examination of this University.

     B.E. DEGREE EXAM. THE SMT. SAVITA KISHOR SHAH MEMORIAL AWARD (Value Rs.2, 250/- in cash) Awarded annually to a candidate who passes the B.E. degree examination held in the first half of every year at the first attempt and secures the highest percentage of marks on the grand total from among all the successful candidates who offer different branches of engineering at the said examination. F. E. EXAM. THE COLONEL PATRICK FRENCH SCHOLARSHIP (P.120) (Value Rs. 230/- per annum, for one year) Awarded annually to the highest on the aggregate, on condition that he prosecutes studies for the B.E. degree examination of this University. THE CHETTANRAM G. ABICHANDANI SCHOLARSHIP (P.121) (Value Rs. 512/- per annum, for one year) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes in the First Class with the highest number of marks on the aggregate, on condition that he prosecutes studies for the B.E. degree examination. Failing such a candidate, to the next best eligible candidate, on the same conditions. THE DEWAN KHANCHAND JECHANDRAI MIRCHANDANI SCHOLARSHIP (P.94) Value Rs. 360/- per annum, for one year) Awarded annually to the highest among all the successful candidates, on condition that he prosecutes studies for the degree examination of this University. THE KAHANDAS MUNCHARAM SCHOLARSHIP (P.120) (Value Rs. 200/- per annum, for one year) Awarded annually to the highest among Gujarati Hindu application, on condition that he prosecutes studies further. F. E. (APPLICATIONS REQURED) THE PARPATIBAI R. RAMCHANDANI SCHOLARSHIP. (Value Rs. 375/- per annum, tenable for 3 years) Awarded every third year (award due in 1993) to the candidate who secures the highest number of marks on the aggregate at the F.E. examination from among the applicants whose parents / guardian?s income does not exceed Rs. 2, 500/- per month, on condition that he prosecutes his studies for the B.E. degree examination

      M.D. EXAMINATION The Dr. Sir. Mangaldas Methta Gold Medal (Value Rs.200/-) Awarded annually to the candidates who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch II- Obstetrics and Gynecology, provided he is not awarded the Prince of Wales Gold Medal. If such a candidate is not available, awarded at the discretion of the Executive Council. The Mrs. Prabhavati Bhalchandra Vad Prize (Value Rs. 200/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch I-average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch I-General Medicine, provided he is not the recipient of a Gold Medal under any other endowment of the university. If there be no such candidate, or if the candidate gets any Medal, awarded to a successful candidate in Brach II, Branch III, Branch IV, in order or priority, provided such a candidate is not a recipient of a gold medal under any other endowment of the University. The Dr. Chunibhai Shankerbhai Patel Gold Medal in General Medicine (Value Rs.350/-) Awarded annually to the Candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch I ? General Medicine. The Dr. Nusserwanji Fakirji Surveyor, Shrveyor, Shirinbai Nusseranji Surveyor, Hodabux Nusserwanji Surveyor and Noshirwan Khodabux Surveyor Memorial Scholarship. (Value Rs. 1, 130/- per annum for one year) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Brach I ? (Value: Fellowship Rs.950/- per annum for one year Medal Rs.200/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch of study notified for the year. If the candidate is ineligible, refer to Regulation 2. The Rani Jagadamba Devi J.K. Mehta Prize (Value Rs.1,350/- in Cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination at the first attempt with the highest average points on the aggregate in Practical and Orals, taken together at the examination in Branch I ? General Medicine held in October. The Dr. Ardeshir Koyali Contractor Book Prize. (Value : Rs.2,125/- in Books)

       Awarded every year, by rotation to a candidate who passes the M.D. (Medicine) degree examination of this University at the first attempt with the highest average points in ?Clinical Medicine? and to a candidate who passes the M.D. (Radio Diagnosis) degree examination of this University at the first attempt with the highest average points on the aggregate in the Branch of Radio-Diagnosis. The Dr. C.K. Deshpande Gold Medal. ( Value Rs. 900/-)  Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch of Microbiology, failing him Pathology. The Late Dr. R.B. Billimoria Prize. (Value Rs.2,125/- in cash) Awarded annually to a candidate who passes the M.D. degree examination with the highest average points on the aggregate in the Branch of ?General Medicine?. The Late Shri Kishinchand Thawerdas Khilnani Prize . (Value Rs.2,762/- in cash) Awarded annually to a candidate who secures the highest average points on the aggregate in Branch VI-Skin Diseases from among the successful candidates at the M.D. degree examination held at the end of the regular period in January every year.

M.Ch./M.S./M.D. The Late Professor P.K. Sen Memorial Prize. (Value Rs.2,125/- in cash) Awarded annually to a candidate who secures the highest average points on the aggregate in Thoracic Surgery form among the successful candidates at the M.Ch. degree examination of this University held at the end of the regular period, every year, or in the absence of a candidate in the said branch to a candidate who secures the highest average points on the aggregate at the M.S. (Gen.Surgery) or M.S. (Gen.Surgery) or M.D. (Anaesthesia) or M.D.(Pathology) degree examination alternately. M.D. EXAM. The Lupin Merit Prize. (Value Rs.2,125/- in cash) (Donation received in July, 1993) Awarded annually to a candidate who passes the M.D. degree examination at the First Attempt and secures the highest average points on the aggregate in Branch V-T.B. and Chest Diseases. The Dr. V. S. Palekar Memorial Prize (Value Rs. 2,125/-) Awarded annually to the Candidate who Passes examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch I ? General Medicine.T The Dr. N.A. Purandare Memorial Prize. (Value Rs. 2,125/- in cash) Awarded annually to a candidate who passes the M.D. degree examination at the First Attempt and secures the highest average points on the aggregare in Branch II- Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Br. Sane?s Gangaprasad Singh Memorial Prize. (Value Rs. 2,125/- in cash) Awarded every year to a candidate who passes the M.D. degree examination held at the end of the regular period in the first attempt and secures the highest average points on the aggregate in the Branch of Forensic Medicine and that the aggregate is not less than 60% or it?s equivalent in point system, provided that the candidate passes clearly in each head as well as sub-heads. Dr. Sane?s Prize. (Value of Rs, 2,125/- in cash) Awarded every year to a candidate who passes the M.D. degree examination held at the end of the regular period in the first attempt and secures the highest average points on the aggregate in the Branch of Radiology at the examination and that the aggregate is no less than 60% or it?s equivalent in point system, provided that the candidate passes clearly in each head as well as sub-heads. Late Smt. Manoramabai V. Gupte Memorial Prize. (Value of Rs.5,500/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who secures the highest average points on the aggregate in Branch X ? Preventive & Social Medicine from amongst the successful candidates at the M.D. degree examination. The Dr. Usha Suresh Wagh Prize. (Value of Rs.2000/- in cash). Awarded annually to the candidates who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch VII- Anaesthesia. Dr. Suman Ganesh Kinare Memorial Prize. (Value of Rs.4,250/- in cash) Awarded every year to the candidate who secures the highest average points on the aggregate in the Branch of Pathology at the M.D. degree examination. M. S. (Value Rs.550/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch I- General Surgery. Failing such candidate in Branch I- awarded to a candidate in Branch II- Orthopaedics or Branch III-Oto-rhino-Larynogology, in order of Priority. (Value Rs. 350/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch I-General Surgery. The Dr. S.R. Moolgavkar Gold Medal. (Value Rs. 295/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch I-General Surgery. The Late Seth Gagalbhai Natthubhai Prize. (Value Rs.565/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch III-Oto-Rhino-Laryngology. The Dr. M.V. Sant Prize. (Value Rs.970/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch II-Orthopaedics. The Prince of Wales Gold Medal and the Hansraj Pragji Thackersey Prince of Wales Fellowship. (Value: Fellowship Rs.950/- per annum for one year and Medal Rs.200/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Branch of study notified for the year. (Value: Rs.500/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch of Surgery notified for the year.

(Value : Rs.900/-) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination at the first attempt with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in the Branch II-Orthopaedics. The Shri Sharad Vinayak Kirtikar Prize. (Value Rs.2250/- in cash) Awarded annually to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination in Brach I-General Surgery. Failing such a candidate, in any year, in the said Branch of Surgery the Prize shall be awarded to the candidate who passes the examination with the highest average points on the aggregate at the examination from among the successful candidates who offer different Branches of Surgery at the M.S. degree examination FIRST M. B. / B. S. / M. S. The Late Professor Dr. Jagdish S. Kalgutkar Memorial Prizes. 1. Three Prizes, each of the value of Rs.1,250/-, Rs.1,000/- and Rs.750/- shall be awarde annually to the candidates who secure in the highest, second highest and third highest number of marks in the subject of ?Humna Anatomy? (excluding sectional mark respectively, from among the successful candidates at the First M.B., B.S. examination held at the end of the regular period i.e. in October/November every year, Provided they pass the examination at the first attempt . 2. One Prizes of the value of Rs.1,250/- shall be awarded annually to a candidate who passes the M.S.degree examination in the Branch of ?Human Anatomy? at the first attempt with the highest average points on the aggregate. In the case of a tie, the amount of Prize shall be divided equally among the candidates, figuring in the tie. 3. In the case of a tie for the Prizes to be awarded in the subject of Human Anatomy at the first M.B., B.S. examination, an attempt shall be made to resolve the tie by giving weightage to the marks obtained by the candidates on the aggregate of all the subjects taken together. If the tie still persists, then. 4. In the case of a tie between two candidates for the First Prize of Rs.1,250/-, the amount of the First Prize of Rs.1,250/- and the Second Prize of Rs.1,000/- i.e. Rs.2,250/- shall be divided equally between the said two candidates and the Third Prize shall be awarded to the Second best candidate or Candidate. 5. In the case of a tie between two candidates for the First Prize of Rs. 1,250/- the total amount of the First Prize of Rs.1,250/-, the Second Prize of Rs. 1,000/- and the Third Prize of Rs.750/- i.e. Rs.3,000/- shall be divided equally among all the candidates figuring in the tie. In such a case, the Second and Third Prizes shall not be awarded. 6. In the case of a tie between two or more candidates for the Second Prize of Rs.1,000/- the total amount of the Second Prize of Rs.1,000/-, the total amount of the Second Prize of Rs.1000/- and the Third Prize of Rs.750/- i.e.Rs.1,750/- shall be divided equally among all the candidates figuring in the tie. In such a case, the Third Prize shall not be awarded, and 7.
